Defense of the Ancients - World of Warcraft Edition is a warcraft 3 map made with the DotA Template at www.thehelper.net. The template does basic setup for the way that heroes are picked, scorebored, creep spawns, and allows the map to have All the desired modes of gameplay already there.

I, ROTS19, (Azeroth Realm)used the template and created Many heroes and taverns, (one tavern per race) and changed the creeps to make guards from World of Warcraft. Also the Super Creeps are the Ingame pets that are only available to people with World of Warcraft Collectors edition. I also added over 50 triggers to the map to do the various spells and other functions, such as unit spawns and other stuff. Most of the cool stuff in the map is covered here.

Races & Classes

Each Faction has not one, but many taverns to choose from. Each Tavern represents a diffrent race, And you can choose a Class when you select the tavern for the race you want to be. Ex: When you select the Draenei Tavern, you will be able to choose a Warrior, Hunter, Paladin, Mage, Shaman or Priest. And if you Select the Blood Elf Tavern, you will be able to choose a Paladin, Warlock, Rogue, Hunter, Mage or Priest. That's an example of how no tavern will let you pick the same races, they vary.

Every hero can reach level 70, and the spells have many many ranks to allow the possibilty of always getting more powerful. There are 9 diffrent classes, just like in World of Warcraft, and here's a brief description of all of their versions in DotA - WoW Edition:

wow_druid2.gif

The Druid, like all classes, has some very unique spells, however some are identical to other spells.

Primary Attribute: Intellect

Healing Touch: Just a healing spell, nothing diffrent about this one

Wrath: Just a normal damage spell, it deals damage

Moonfire: Just like other DOTS, Moonfire deals damage over time

Entangling Roots: A very distinct Dot Spell. This not only deals damage over time, but it also immobolizes the target! Very useful in situations where you must prevent movement of the enemy when you're being chased, or just to annoy the enemy!

Bear Form: the title says it all, turns you into a bear. While the bear has no abilities, it deals Chaos damage, more damage and has more armor. In a future patch, i may add abilities to the bear

wow_hunter2.gif

The Hunter consists of 4 different spells instead of 5. The reason for this, is because The Hunter can command "Pets" as their 5th ability. Once a hunter reaches level 10, you can enter a command for a pet(the commands are listed in the quests menu) and it becomes your 5th ability.

Primary Attribute: Agility

Arcane Shot:
The Hunter shoots out an arrow made entirely of arcane power--simply put, it does damage, that increases every level. Starting at rank 6, it also dispels magical effects.

Serpent Sting:
Just the Hunter Damage over Time spell, nothing unique about this one, except for its cool icon

Raptor Strike:
Its like Roar only it only affects you...for 5 seconds. Using this skillfully is how hunters kill quickly...well that and Aspect of the Hawk

Aspect of the Hawk:
Just like a Warrior's Heroic Strike, Attacks deal bonus damage when enabled. While in WoW, its quite a bit diffrent, i have plans to maybe make this spell more simmaler to the WoW Version in the patches to come...

The Mage is a Damage-Dealing Spellcaster Class which relies heavily on strategic usages of its spells and mana to survive and to eliminate the enemy.

Primary Attribute: Intellect

Frostbolt: A spell that deals initial damage and slows enemy movement speed by 40%. More points you put into this spell then the longer it will last and the more damage it will do.

Fire Blast: A high-Damage spell acquirable once the mage reaches level 6. does not have as much range as fireball or Frostbolt, and has a higher cooldown, but it usually costs less mana.

Frost Nova: Freezes everyone around the Mage and deals damage to them

Frost Armor: A spell that increases the Mage's Armor by a certain ammount and also enemys that attack it will get slowed.

Fireball: A basic damage over time spell, that deals initial damage and then damage over time.

wowpallybsb.jpg

The Paladin is purely a support class designed to help the team, but can also serve is just running up and attacking/pwning the enemy because a paladin is really powerful as well as requiring mana for spells. I guess a combination of the Warrior and the Priest.

Primary Attribute: Strength

Hammer of Justice: Stuns the target. More points put in, longer it lasts. Has a 1 minute cooldown

Purify: Cleanses negative buffs on friendly targets.

Holy Light: Just like any other healing spell. Heals for more the more points put into it.

Retribution Aura: all nearby allies (including the Paladin) strike enemys that damage them for a certain ammount of damage. This damage increases as more points are put into it, up to a maximum potential of 26 damage. It doesn't seem like much, but when you think of All the enemys that could be attacking All of the players under the effect of the aura, its a really usefull spell.

Devotion aura: Increases the armor of nearby allies including the palading. As more points are put into it, more armor is generated.

wow-priest.jpg

The Priest is mainly for support but also works like a damage dealing class with spells like Mind Blast.

Primary Attribute: Intellect

Lesser Heal: Heals. Has 3 levels, but when thats done, Renew ultimately replaces this ability.

Smite: Deals damage to the target. More damage as more points go into it.

Renew: a Heal over Time Spell. No other class has a spell like this, although Draenei have Gift of the Naaru which is like Renew Rank 1 and a half.

Mind Blast(All Exept Human and Dwarf): A better version of Smite.

Desperate Prayer(Humand and Dwarf only): A healing spell that can only target the Priest, costs no mana, but has a long cooldown.

Shadow Word: Pain: Basic Damage over Time Spell.

wow_rogue2.gif

The Rogue is a Melee damage dealing class that uses a system called "Combo Points". In Dota Wow, these points are gained from using Sinister Strike and used to deal more damage the more combo points you have, and the higher rank of eviserate, with the spell, Eviserate.

Primary Attribute: Agility

Stealth: The Rogue is invisible but movement speed is reduced. The more points in stealth the faster you can move when stealthed.

Sinister Strike: Gains a Combo point and deals damage. Scroll up for info on Combo points

Eviserate: Deals alot of damage. More damage is dealt the more combo points you have, and the higher rank of Eviserate. Scroll up for info on Combo Points

Sprint: Increases your movement speed for some time.

Evasion: Reduces your chance to be hit for some time.

768sm.jpg

The Shaman is another Powerful-Spellcaster-Tank combination. Can make use of Totems, immobile objects that help the Shaman and his allies.

Primary Attribute: Intellect

Earth Shock: An ability with low range that damages an opponent and silences them for 2 seconds.

Lightning Bolt: Does damage

Healing Wave: Heals

Earthbind Totem: Slows enemies that come near it.

Stoneclaw Totem: Has alot of hit points and can take decent ammount of damage. Taunts enemies forcing them to attack it, and also stuns enemies that it attacks(it only does one damage though)

wow-warlock.jpg

The Warlock is a Shadow-Spell caster that excells in dealing the most damage possible with destructive and demonic energies.

Primary Attribute: Intellect

Immolate: Damage over time spell

Shadow Bolt: Deals Damage

Create Healthstone: Creates a healthstone that can be consumed to restore health

Life Tap: Transfers some life into mana

Summon Imp: Summons an imp under the command of the warlock. As you put more points into it, the imp becomes stronger and gains various abilities, or improves some abilities.

wow-warrior.jpg

The Warrior is a very strong class and its sole purpose is combat at melee range. Uses Rage, so instead of gaining mana over time, it always remains at 100 maan, and is always going down to 0, but when the Warrior is attscked or attacks, it will gain mana for spells. Fortunately, its spells do not increase their mana cost as they get higher ranks, just like the Rogue.

Primary Attribute: Strength

Heroic Strike: Right Click to add more damage to your attacks at the cost of Rage

Battle Roar: increases all nearby friendly units' damage for 2 minutes. The More units around you when you do it, and the higher rank it is, the more effective it is against the enemy.

Sunder Armor: Reduces a target's armor.

Thunder Clap: Damages enemies around the caster and slows their attack speed.

Rend: Melee Damage over time spell.

Leave System

If a player leaves, AI Creeps will spawn for them -- 2 melee and 1 ranged! The type of creeps spawned will depend on which side the leaving player is on.

Alliance AI Creeps:
Melee: Exodar Peacekeeper
Ranged: Darnassus Sentinel

Horde AI Creeps:
Melee: Undercity Guardian
Ranged: Bluffwatcher

These differ from the regular computer creeps that Red and Green spawn, which are:

Alliance regular creeps
Melee: Stormwind Guard
Ranged: Ironforge Mountaineer

Horde regular creeps:
Melee: Ogrimmar Grunt
Ranged: Silvermoon Guard

I hope this greatly reduces the chance of the game being disbanned once a noob player leaves because it doesn't ruin the game anymore!

Talents

Talents are upgrades that affect heroes or their spells and cost Talent Points, which are aquired at level 10 every level. Every Talent besides the starting ones require a certain ammount of talents spent in that section, there are 3 sections per class, and each section is a seperate building of upgrades. Players may gain control of these building to spend their talent points just by walking into a circle that is right next to the building of talent upgrades. Ex: A Hunter spent a talent point for Lethal Shots in the Marksmenship section. A Warrior can walk in the circle for the second section of talents(Section 2 for a Hunter is Marksmenship) and spend a talent point in Cruelty for 1 talent point in the fury section, as Fury is the second Warrior Talent Section.

Note: Talents have not been implemented in the map.

Items

You can purchase items at Weapons Merchent, Light Armor Merchent, and the Heavy Armor Merchant. Every item there is from World of Warcraft!

There are also Creeps around the map that drop items different from the ones at the shops. The non buyable items can also be acquired with hero item drop mode.

NOTE: If you pick your hero in the first 20 seconds of the map, you'll start with a Hearthstone!
